Why do some of us come down with the flu, while others seem to escape it? Clearly the state of the immune system is the key factor here. A healthy immune system can fight off the attack of the flu bug and keep you healthy even when family members and/or co-workers are dropping like flies. So what can we do to protect ourselves against the flu that does not include a shot or medication? We can THUMP. There are 3 areas on the body that, when stimulated by thumping, stimulate the immune system. They are: K-27 points located 1″ down the diagonal from the knobby endpoints of the collarbone, over the THYMUS gland which is 2-3″ down from the sternal notch or adam’s apple, and the spleen points on the side of the ribcage where the bra line ends. Thumping these points vigorously and often every day, especially as we transition between the seasons or when we are experiencing a lot of stress, will help you stay healthy during flu season!
